Diploma in Languages
The Diploma in Languages proposes to teach young people intercultural skills and introduce them to translation and interpreting, showing young people the way language works as well as how we learn languages so they can become independent, lifelong language learners.
The Diploma in Languages is divided into themes which aim to provide the learner with essential skills in preparation for successful employment, training and further study, including Mathematics, English and ICT.
Given the important role of ICT in international communication, aspects of ICT such as computer mediated communication and social networking promise to play an important role in this new diploma.
Development of the Diploma in Languages is the responsibility of the Diploma Development Partnership, which is being led by GoSkills, in close collaboration with CILT, the National Centre for Languages.
